War Bonnet Park

Located on John Zink's ranch outside of Mannford, War Bonnet opened in 1966 on a one mile circuit
which held a driving school. The racing circuit was initially 2.7 miles long, and hosted Trans-Am races
in 1967 and 1968, and F5000 in 1968. During the 1968 event, a car in the Trans-Am race span into
a spectator area and hit a car, sending two children to hospital - safety concerns and a lack of
spectator attendance meant that no more races were held. A 5.7 mile circuit was also used.
