Elvington

An RAF base which later became a nuclear base, Elvington was based on the airbases's runways. Unfortunately, the runways were covered with a high-friction surface which resulted in prodigious tyre wear rates during the two race meetings held - on the 8th July 1962 and the 7th July 1963.
