Dooen
In 1959, the Horsham, Victoria based Wimmera Light Car Club opened a
roughly 1 mile oil-bonded dirt track, which stayed open until 1961 for
car racing (motorcycle scramble meetings were held for a couple more years).
It was built on a flood plain, and sometimes disappeared under several feet
of water.
