Charlotte Speedway
Located in Pineville, Charlotte Speedway was a 1.25 mile wooden oval with
40 degree banked corners built by Jack Prince. It was operational between
the 24th October 1924 and the 19th September 1927, and was closed in 1928 when
the surface deteriorated and the owners decided not to fix it. There was one
fatality at the track, when Earl Antersberg was killed during an exhibition
run on the 24th October 1924.
