First used in 1960 for motorcycle racing, Pisek was a street circuit. It was used again in 1961, before switching to a different circuit layout for 1962-1963, although in 1963 the direction of the new track was reversed.
After a five year gap, racing returned to Pisek on a new 3.350 km layout to the north-west of the city center. This was used from 1968-1975.
