Liberec

Originally used in 1946 as a 4.0 km road circuit around the Stary Harcov dam in Liberec, featuring a mixture of hard and dirt surfaces. Motorcycle races were held for the opening event, but car races were also held in 1947.

For 1948 the circuit was shortened (the green line on the map above) to 3.521 km. Car races were held through to 1953, but motorcycle racing continued until the 12th October 1966, after which racing stopped following a fatal accident when a 73 year old woman stepped onto the track to shorten her journey home from hospital and was hit by a racing motorcycle.
