A Luftwaffe pilot in WW2, he became an engineer after the war
and built specials before starting racing himself.
1951 - Started racing. 5th in Eifelrennen (Veritas Meteor 6) 1952 - nc German GP (own entrant - Veritas Meteor 6). Was a factory Mercedes driver in sportscars with Kling, finishing 2nd on Mille Miglia, ret Le Mans 24 Hrs, ret Nurburgring 1000 km, won Carrera Panamericana. Was 2nd at AVUS and 2nd at Grenzlandring non-champ F1 races. 1953 - 2nd in AVUS non-champ F1 race (Veritas Meteor 6). Was a Mercedes sportscar test driver, and suffered a bad accident so retired from motorsport, hence DNA in German GP. 1954 - Returned to engineering
